Nick is the executive director of the Aldersgate Group, a business-backed organisation based in London, which drives action for a competitive and environmentally sustainable economy. The Aldersgate Group, whose corporate members have a global collective turnover in excess of £400bn, focuses on developing policy solutions that can tackle environmental challenges effectively and in way that can deliver economic benefits. The group's work covers climate policy and measures to grow the low-carbon economy, resource efficiency, natural capital and sustainable finance.
Nick is responsible for the overall management of the Group, including the development of its work programme, overseeing all its policy and media work and developing relationships with key UK and EU political and business stakeholders.
Prior to joining the Aldersgate Group, Nick worked for 6 years as an energy and environmental lawyer with city law firm CMS Cameron McKenna where he advised international businesses, regulators and governments on a range of energy projects and related environmental issues. He was also the Head of Climate Change and Energy Policy at WWF-UK for four years. A regular public speaker, Nick also writes for a range of outlets on climate change, environmental, clean energy and industrial strategy policy issues.
